Vikas Vidyalaya Overview
Vikas Vidyalaya, located in Ranchi (Jharkhand), was founded by the Manav Vikas Vidyalaya Trust, Kolkata. It offers a conducive learning environment aimed at nurturing all aspects of a student's personality. The school is situated on an expansive estate spanning approximately 200 acres, with more than 50 acres dedicated to the school complex. On March 8, 1953, the school was inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the President of the Indian Union. Vikas Vidyalaya was established with the vision of merging the best of both Eastern and Western education systems, as seen in public schools. The concept of public schools in India emerged a few years prior to independence when the Indian Public Schools Conference was formed in 1939, spearheaded by forward-thinking headmasters like Mr. Pearce. The founder of Vikas Vidyalaya, Shri Rameshwar Lalji Nopany, had witnessed the success of similar educational institutions abroad and aimed to create an Indian public school that embraced the best of both worlds.
