DAV Model School, located in Sector-15, Chandigarh, is the result of the visionary efforts of the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. Established on 14th April 1966, the school initially spanned across two acres of land and had a mere enrolment of 40 students. However, under the exceptional leadership of Mrs. Kamlesh Thareja, the founder principal, the institution flourished and gained immense popularity among the citizens of the city. Recognizing its growing reputation, the school purchased an additional two acres of land to expand its facilities. Initially starting as a primary section, DAV Model School quickly earned accolades and popularity, prompting its upgrade to the middle level. In class VIII, the school produced commendable results, which further motivated the authorities to introduce senior classes. The school's dedication and sincerity were rewarded when it secured affiliation from CBSE in 1988 and attained outstanding results in the Matriculation examination.
