Modern High School Overview
Modern High School, Amritsar, traces its roots back to the esteemed SSSS Khalsa School Amritsar, which boasts a rich legacy spanning 125 years. Originally established as an English medium nursery school in 1974 at the Mall Road campus, Modern School has since flourished into a distinguished educational institution. Due to space constraints, a new campus spanning 15 acres was constructed at Dhab Kaulan on the Batala Road, Amritsar. This plot, once a low-lying barren land intersected by a 'gandanala,' was transformed under a Development Scheme. In 1988, the foundation stone was laid by Lt. Gen BKN Chhiber, an esteemed alumnus of the school. Affiliated with the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) in 1992, the school transitioned to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 2009. In 2012, the school was elevated to a senior secondary level (class 10+2), accommodating over 2600 students from pre-nursery to class +2.
