Sainik School Overview
The Sainik Schools Admissions process offers a unique opportunity for students to receive a military-oriented education. These premier educational institutions, known as the Comity of 33 Sainik Schools, are administered by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence in New Delhi. Established by the late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the nation's first Prime Minister, and the late Shri VK Krishna Menon, the then Defence Minister, these schools aim to prepare cadets academically, physically, and mentally to enter the prestigious National Defence Academy in Pune. The main goal of the Sainik Schools is to encourage cadets to don the uniform of the Military Services and serve their nation. To achieve this mission, the schools have set several objectives. Firstly, they aim to rectify the regional imbalance in the officer cadre of the Defence Services.
