Rashtriya Military School Overview
Bangalore, August 1, 1946 - Maj Gen AHJ Snelling, C.B. CBE, inaugurated the opening of King George VI Royal Indian Military College in South India today. This pioneering institution aimed to provide education to the sons of Defense personnel from the region. Initially, cadets were educated from III to VII standard in preparation for the Army's Special Examination, equivalent to high school education. The school consisted of three houses named Coot, Clive, and Cornwall. In September 1952, the school underwent reorganization and started admitting the sons of commissioned officers and civilians. It was then renamed King George's School, with the motto "Play the Game". As part of the Indian Public School Conference, the school prepared cadets for the Senior Cambridge Examination from 1952 to 1962. In a demonstration of local patriotism, the houses were subsequently renamed Rajaji, Nehru, and Mountbatten. In 1972, Mountbatten House became Tagore House, and a new house called Shastri House was introduced. In 1966, the school changed its
