The Army Public School Overview
The history of Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, traces back to 1953 when it was established on King Edward Road, now known as Maulana Azad Road (MAR). At that time, a group of enterprising officers' wives decided to launch a school with an initial enrollment of 35 students in Nursery and KG. Mrs. Mercy Benjamin served as the school's first Principal. In 1962, Mr. AET Barrow conducted an inspection and granted the school recognition for affiliation with ISC. Over the years, the school has grown, and it currently boasts around 5000 students and 200 teachers under the oversight of the Army Welfare Education Society. The school's journey spans more than 67 years since its inception and 49 years since it moved to its present location. The foundation stone for the Dhaula Kuan campus was laid in 1964 by Shri YB Chavan, the then Defence Minister. By 1966, the school was renamed Defence Services Public School, and by 1971, it had expanded
