Carmel High School, formerly known as St. Mary's Carmel School, was established on April 1st, 1956, at 19, Deshapriya Park Road in Kolkata-26. Initially, it functioned as a primary school offering education from Upper and Lower Kindergarten to classes 1-4, with English and Bengali as the medium of instruction. As the need for additional classrooms arose, classes from grade 5 onwards were relocated to 41, Gariahat Road (South). In 1969, Carmel School received recognition as a Higher Secondary School. Over time, it has evolved and transformed into Carmel High School. The inaugural batch of Secondary students was successfully graduated in 1970, marking an important milestone in the school's journey.
