Rashtriya Military School Overview
The Rashtriya Military Schools were initially established as King George's Royal Indian Military Schools to provide education to the sons of defence personnel. However, in 1952, they were reorganized according to Public School standards and opened admissions to both Defence Service Officers' sons and civilians. The schools became members of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) in 1954 and have remained active members ever since. In 1966, the schools were renamed as Military Schools and adopted a new motto, "Sheelem Param Bhushanam," which translates to "Character is the Highest Virtue." On June 25, 2007, the schools were officially renamed as Rashtriya Military School. Located in Museum Road, Richmond Town P.O., the school holds a significant number of alumni who have achieved high positions in the Armed Forces and other sectors, contributing greatly to the nation.
