Army Public School Jammu Cantt., founded in 1975 as Tiger Cub School with just 5 students enrolled, has come a long way since its humble beginnings in Satwari Cantonment area. Initially housed in the Tiger Canteen opposite the War Memorial, the school later underwent a transformation in July 1984 and was renamed Tiger Army School, attaining the status of Primary School. Responding to the increasing demand and evolving educational landscape, secondary level classes were incorporated into the curriculum in 1986.
