Doon International School (DIS) is a renowned educational institution located in Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand. Known for its rich history and association with Guru Dronacharya in the Mahabharata, Dehradun has always been a hub for learning. Many prestigious secondary schools, including DIS, are situated in this city and its surrounding areas. The favorable weather, connectivity, picturesque location, and local traditions have attracted individuals who aspire to establish educational institutions here. DIS was established in 1984 by the Mann family, who were highly motivated by the favorable conditions in Dehradun. The school is located on Curzon Road, an area known for housing other famous secondary schools. DIS quickly gained momentum and has since expanded its presence to various locations, including Mohali in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Inspired by the success and reputation of DIS, Mr. Sarat Chandra Routray decided to open the first branch of DIS in Eastern India.
