Rpes Abbasaheb Atre English Medium School Overview
In 1934, Abasaheb Atre joined RPES Abbasaheb Atre English Medium School, which was in a dire state at the time with a low number of students. Despite the challenges it faced, Abasaheb Atre remained determined to establish and improve the institution. In 1937, he took on the role of Principal and initiated night classes for workers, even under adverse conditions. He personally visited parents and emphasized the importance of education, persuading them to enroll their children in his school. Despite these difficulties, Abasaheb Atre tirelessly worked to ensure the smooth functioning of the school. Over time, the night classes evolved into a Night High School. In 1985, the Night School received the prestigious Patkar shield, awarded by the Maharashtra State Night High School Principals Association, for achieving the highest results in the S.S.C. Exams in the State. Tragically, Abasaheb Atre passed away before the Night School's Golden Jubilee in 1988, but his mission in life was accomplished through his unwavering
