St. Joseph & Marys School Admissions, Fee Structure, Reviews, Facilities, and Admission Form On January 16, 1963, St. Joseph & Marys School was founded by Mr. T. L. Lumb, a British Leather Technologist. Initially, the school consisted of only 17 students and 5 teachers. However, as time went by, the school gained popularity and its student body grew exponentially. After Mr. Lumb returned to England, Mrs. Sulekha Goswami took over as the Principal of this private and unrecognized institution. Dr. R. K. Mahalanabis, a professor of Mathematics at Jadavpur University, was appointed as the Secretary. To accommodate the increasing number of students, the school constructed its own building in plot no: 578B, Block-N, New Alipore in the year 1979. This move allowed for the expansion of the school's facilities and resources. In 1980, the school attained affiliation to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (School Code: WB042).
