St. Stephen School, located in Budge Budge, derives its name from St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr and patron saint of the institution. It celebrates St. Stephen's day on February 15th. Stephen was a man of great faith and was blessed with an abundance of the Holy Spirit. He performed numerous miracles and spread the message of God. However, his preaching was not well-received by the Jewish council, who became furious when he claimed to see Jesus standing in all his glory at the right hand of God. As a result, they dragged him out of the city and stoned him to death. Even in his last moments, Stephen asked for forgiveness for those who killed him. St. Stephen serves as a shining example of spiritual leadership, and we hope that his life will inspire young men and women to come under our guidance as "STEPHENITES".
