Salt Lake School Overview
Salt Lake School (Eng. Medium) is a well-respected and historic educational institution in the Salt Lake area. Established in 1979, this school was initially sponsored by the Government of West Bengal to accommodate the multilingual population of Salt Lake City. However, on September 1st, 1981, the management of the school was handed over to the Salt Lake School (Eng. Medium) Society, which comprised guardians, teachers, and staff of the school. The day-to-day operations of the school are overseen by an Executive Council. Salt Lake School prepares students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (I.C.S.E) and Indian School Certificate Examination (I.S.C), both administered by the Council for The Indian School Certificate Examinations. The school offers classes from the pre-primary (4+) level to class XII. Notably, the first batch of students from this school appeared for the I.C.S.E exam in March 1987, followed by the I.S.C Exam in 1991.
