The Mira Movement in Education was established by Sadhu Vaswani, a philosopher and educationist, with a strong belief in women's education. In 1933, he founded St.Mira's School in Hyderabad Sind, and after the partition, he chose Pune as the headquarters for his work and the school. In 1950, the St.Mira's Educational Board was formed under the leadership of Maharishi D.K.Karve, who greatly admired the ideals and the revered founder. The High School began its journey on March 1, 1950, and was soon followed by the establishment of St. Mira's Primary School in 1952.
