Erin N. Nagarvala School, renowned for its exceptional education, was established by the Late Principal N. D. Nagarvala and the Late Dr. (Mrs.) Erin N. Nagarvala on June 18th, 1947. The school's first location was a residential bungalow at No. 4, Boat Club Road, Pune. With a strong vision of providing quality education to middle-class children, particularly those from rural parts of Maharashtra, Mr. & Mrs. Nagarvala aimed to make education affordable without compromising on excellence. Recognizing the immense potential of middle-class children, the couple believed that given the right opportunities, these students could become successful and outstanding citizens. Initially named The National Military School, the Education Department advised dropping the word "Military," and thus, the school was rebranded as The National Model School. However, following the unfortunate passing of Dr. (Mrs.) Erin N. Nagarvala, the school's name was changed once again to honor her dedication and devotion to the institution.
