St Josephs High School Overview
In the year 1955, Rev. Fr. Manuel Dsouza was appointed as the Parish Priest of St. Josephs church in Vikhroli. Upon his arrival, Vikhroli was often described as a jungle. It was during this time that Rev. Fr. Manuel took the initiative to establish a school in 1956. Initially, the school had only seventeen students from the nearby village, but the number of students gradually increased each year. In 1966, Rev. Fr. George Lobo was appointed as the first qualified Principal of St. Josephs School. The school successfully conducted its first S.S.C batch in March 1971. A total of twenty-three students appeared for the S.S.C Examination, out of which twenty-one passed with an impressive pass rate of 91.30%. Since then, St. Josephs High School has made consistent progress under the efficient leadership of several Principals.
